Plots: After stretching the truth on a deal with a spiritual guru, literary agent Jack McCall finds a Bodhi tree on his property. Its appearance holds a valuable lesson on the consequences of every word he speaks. Jack McCall (Eddie Murphy) finds an unusual tree in his yard after an encounter with a spiritual guru. After discovering that with each word he speaks, a leaf drops from the tree, Jack refuses to speak at all, as silence will keep the tree, and him, alive. However, his elective mutism affects his work, his marriage, and his friendships. Can he figure out an alternative method of survival, or does he just need to live the rest of his life to the fullest? Famous for his rapid-fire talking and sly ways, self-centered top-shelf literary agent Jack McCall can surely talk his way out of almost anything. However, in an attempt to seal the deal with quiet, peaceful New-Age guru Dr Sinja, the spiritual leader sees right through Jack, and a magical tree sprouts up in his garden that has a strange connection with him. Now, for the first time in his life, Jack needs to be frugal with words, as the mysterious plant sheds a leaf with every word Jack chooses to squander. But what would happen if the tree lost all its leaves? Can Jack understand the meaning of words, and above all, the essence of life?
